SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:
The World of Mime Theatre (WMT) posts information about
upcoming Mime theatre-related events, including performances, workshops,
festivals, and certain other events. These listings will be posted no more than
six months prior to the date of the event, and will be removed upon completion
of the event. Performances Workshops Festivals Other
Events
Performances open to the general public may be
submitted. In order to maintain the focus of its listings on Mime Theatre, WMT does not list
all performances that include some Mime, nor performances by groups or
artists who heavily combine Mime with other theatre arts and styles such as dance, acrobatics,
clown, juggling, magic, etc. Many artists define their work as physical theatre, and such
artists will be considered based on the importance of Mime in their work.
WMT promotes Mime as a theatrical art, and therefore primarily lists
performances that feature theatrical performance rather than street performance.
Mime workshops offered independently or as part of a
festival may be submitted. WMT lists workshops whose primary
focus is teaching Mime, as well as workshops with a larger or different primary
focus that offer significant Mime instruction (such as physical theatre
workshops). In order to maintain the focus of its listings on Mime Theatre, WMT does not list
workshops that offer instruction in related subjects (i.e. circus,
acrobatics, etc.) unless they also offer instruction in Mime.
WMT promotes Mime as a theatrical art, and therefore primarily lists
workshops that concentrate on theatrical performance rather than street performance.
WMT lists Mime festivals and theatre festivals that feature a significant amount of Mime performance. In order to maintain the focus of its listings on Mime Theatre, WMT does not list
all festivals that feature companies and artists who include some Mime in their work, nor festivals that concentrate on Mime heavily combined with other theatre arts and styles such as dance, acrobatics, juggling, magic, etc. Some festivals define their focus as physical theatre, and such festivals will be considered based on the importance of Mime in their content.
WMT promotes Mime as a theatrical art, and therefore lists festivals that feature primarily theatrical performance rather than street performance.
WMT lists special events related to Mime Theatre, such
as lectures, conferences, meetings, etc. Such events may be held as part of a
festival or as independent events. In order to maintain the focus of its listings on Mime Theatre, WMT
will only list events that are specific to Mime Theatre, but not those on more
general subjects or on subjects that are only related to Mime.
